Adding a loser's bracket adds an extra two rounds, could be another 2 hours of extra playtime.

It should only add a single round if it's done properly. For a 16 man tournament that's over 50% more matches (100% if you're constantly going out in the first round) at a cost of only 25% more rounds. It makes sense on that basis. You can also have less need for seeding because if the 2nd best team meets the best team in round 1 and loses, they will meet again in the final.

No thanks, if you lose, you're out, no second chances.

If you look at the timing of the current Ladle, it is as long as it can be, before you start pushing the limits of how long a player can play. When Ww was running CTF tourneys this way, they only worked because of how much quicker a round of ctf could be played.

gari that might be a great idea, teams that get knocked out in round 1 have made the effort to show up they might as well play more than just 1 match (new team gets steamrolled by experienced team because of randomisation is hardly fun for anyone)
Some ideas though,
-Once you're out you're out, this would be just an oportunity for similar leveled teams to gain experience or just play a match or two
--Thus the ladle bracket keeps its perfectness too (ie nothing like this)
-It's optional (experienced team 1 having a bad day & says no thankyou, experienced team 2 drawn up against experienced team 3 in first round by chance, they also are not interested)
-Matches start shortly after the second round in now vacant ladle servers

What's your point? CTF is a timed event. Ww tournaments were double-elimination. Apples and Oranges man.

Interesting that no matter what I post, you love to pick it apart, sine. My point is that the timing was quicker than the Ladle is......

So why mention Ww? What has that got to do with anything?

Wow, really picking my post apart...but, I suppose Ww is just offensive to you....
Ww is who hosted the tournaments. My purpose in naming them was to simply remind those who participated in them what CTF tournaments.

No, it's not offensive. Why would it be offensive? That doesn't make any sense, again, like bringing them up in the first place. It looked like you were trying to make some sort of point about the Ww tournaments vs Ladle and I don't see any connection. The Wild West CTF Tournaments had less than half the number of players and a timed game-mode. That's why they didn't last as long, not because a "loser bracket" or double-elimination was more efficient. You can see that, right?

OMG!

I am not going to spend a gazillion posts making my point...there was a point, but why bother. Around here the loudest voice wins, touche. I have no point, and bringing up something that else was a distraction, not to mention the fundamental idiocy of anything I have said. Done.
