This was the first time defenders suiciding to save zone points was a regular occurence

+1

This is essential. Not just for the people on the grid, but also the specs themselves. I doubt people intend their chatting to annoy anyone who's playing and I don't like accidentally /shouting things.

From a defenders point of view, it can make a lot of sense.

if you're smart you can get a kill or two by tempting attackers with a potentially easy, but in reality difficult "hole" (caused by the defender's death), meaning a 3v1 can end up with 10 points to the team with 3 if they NPH and none to the team with 1, versus 6 points to the team with 3 and 2 or even 4 points to the team with 1.

I still hate it though, I'd much rather defend against 3 attackers who didn't try and hole from the outset...

I don't understand code. Are you asking for shout to be implemented, or not implemented?

Personally I find it kinda annoying. It's easy enough to silence a spammer.

As far as I understood this I agree to you, fighting against 3 or even more attackers as the last player of one's team is exciting, but only till they hole. Often the defender is forced to do the zone save and that is, in my opinion, kind of boring. Whatever the case, I doubt that anyone would agree to prohibiting holing, particularly because it is nearly impossible to enforce. All in all punishing the defender for suidicing in that case would not be fair.

Yes it seems like you understand my post somehow :D

I also find it annoying that defender's job is almost useless now, all you have to do is hide to be successful, as being an offensive defender (and killing attackers) just leads to holes which is worse than not doing anything at all...

3v1s are now almost un-winnable for defenders against decent teams, and even 2v1s most attackers won't "attack", as its easier to slightly annoy the defender since they have to concentrate 100% of the time, whereas defenders can retreat and have a rest...

How likely are you to win a bar fight against three people? :P Why should the defender have that much strength anyway? Fort is already too defense heavy.

All the above assumes your sweepers are dead, and the game is probably lost anyway, whether it is a slow shrink or a fast hole. The hole itself doesn't do anything three people can't do against a 1 man defence, though maybe it annoys you, it saves everyone time and gives you a point in the process.

With living sweepers there is always a challenge. If they die, well it's a team game, blame your team.

Yes, it may be a bit disheartening that the role of the individual (in this case the defender) is diminished, but in return, the importance of teamwork increases.

I have no problem as I say that 3 people can easily win, there are several other tactics they could use appart from the hole off-the-bat (such as one person attacks, dies, which leaves a hole for the others who might get to it in time), its that the defender can NEVER really win in this situation
