Edit (Aug 24 10:50 PM GMT, if anyone cares): The Beatles - Abbey Road Medley - Liked the remix, but it feels so wrong to hear the "last chord" on Her Majesty. 96% of you probably won't have any idea what I'm talking about :P
That album's a masterpiece.

Enjoyed listening to (and watching) that one. Here's one that I found similarly astounding:

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Both are incredible. Acoustic one may be harder just because I always find it harder to play acoustic for some reason
Maybe my strings.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
You didn't even have time to listen to it!
Both of these renditions are still better than that shredder garbage:
JACQUES LOUSSIER TRIO (Sommer (Antonio Vivaldi))
Vivaldi THE FOUR SEASONS - Summer The Storm Jazz (This one is a little ridiculous, and it's still better.)
And there's yet another problem: Valuing of a piece of music, or rendition thereof, by how "hard" (sometimes only ostensibly so) it is to play. Ugh. Music is not acrobatics.Clutch wrote: Acoustic one may be harder....

Thanks for reminding me how boring Vivaldi is. Never could get into his stuff.

Did I say that? I said they were both were incredible, just that the acoustic one would be harder for me.Phytotron wrote:You didn't even have time to listen to it!![]()
Like sine said, I got bored. I've listen to the one I've posted a lot, and the original by Vivaldi, and just didn't feel like listening to the rest.

Yeah, "like sine said," I'm quite sure it's for the same reasons.
By the way, they're not playing steel string acoustics with a pick. They're playing concert/classical nylon string guitars with their fingers. Not that you would have recognised that.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I didn't say that at all. I said they were both incredible, but one sounds harder. How am I valuing it above the other?
I look at this and see something that I would find harder to do then this, but I definitely like the NOFX song better.

In honor of and solidarity with Labor and Unions on this Labor Day (US):
• Labor Songs | American Labor Studies Center (Entire “Joe Glazer Sings Labor Songs” as mp3s at the bottom)
• Union Songs and Poems
• The Nation: Top Ten Labor Day Songs (videos)
• Florence Reece herself sings Which Side Are You On? (The rendition with full lyrics as done by Natalie Merchant is rather good, too, but 6-link limit)
• Woody Guthrie, Sonny Terry, Brownie Mcgee, and Pete Seeger romp The Ballad of John Henry
• Dead Kennedys do At My Job

The two only Beach Boys songs I like:
Leaving This Town
Funky Pretty
(I know Pet Sounds is called one of the best albums ever made but I just can't stand the Wilson's Bee Gee-like head voices in most songs...these ones have longer instrumental parts)
