"Anything could kill you, so might as well go running into a firefight wearing a bright yellow jumpsuit screaming obscenities at the ones with the guns!" Gotta love the logic of you people—or not, but you know, expression. And especially coming from a couple of people who claim to understand that this life is all there is, the only shot you have, no afterlife. Your life to waste, as you would say (fallaciously, when one considers public health implications), but honestly, don't pretend like you're wise in so doing.

I propose a game. We'll roll a die. If it's a six, you win. Otherwise, I win. Either of us could win, so it's fair to put the same amount of money in the pot each, to be given to the winner.

Yep, life is a huge waste of time and there's no afterlife.

How come there isn't an "every day" option?

Well Word I can see its necessary for you to keep your health, but my health is not one of my interests. its that simple.

I know I'm going to die eventually and any could kill me, but I don't plan on wasting any of my life with things like eating right, or avoiding any harmful things. I choose to spend my life doing things that bring me happiness and joy (eg. smoking pot, and playing Armagetronad.)

This is what you don't understand: You are literally wasting your life by shortening it. But, you're young, I assume, and still subject to the "life is long and I'm invincible anyway" mentality. You'll snap out of it eventually and realize how foolish your younger self was.

And by the way, your diet has ramifications that go far beyond you individually.

And by the way, part 2, if smoking pot and playing a video game are the two activities that you specifically cite as bringing you joy, dude, you're not living anyway.

EDIT: "you diet as" to "your diet has" :/

well I can't say one day I won't kick my self for what I do today.

Those to things are one of the many things I enjoy in life. I chose to cite those because they are part of the topic, not because those things are the most important in my life.

Here is the biggest problem with that mentality. These things that are going to kill you? They aren't going to kill you quickly. They are going to kill you slowly and painfully over years. There will be a tipping point where your lifestyle choices will catch up to you and you won't be able to do anything you enjoy. You'll be trapped in a rotting body, for years possibly, living a kind of hell on Earth. All the people who love you will suffer too, from years of watching your potential slip away to the helplessness they will feel when it's too late to recover your health. Of course, you sound like the kind of person who would claim to commit suicide when things got bad enough. But if suicide is your destiny, you should let everyone around you know so they can distance themselves emotionally from the time-bomb that is your life. It's the responsible thing to do, of course.

Found a pretty good forum for us stoners (http://www.stonerforums.com/lounge/). That way you can actually talk about it and not have people jump on you for it. :P (although they're just trying to help) It's kind of cool to jump on if you're bored.

Also, anyone have any names for their pieces? I'm trying to decide on names one of my bongs and a new pipe I got the other day. All I've got so far is Jack the Ripper, Run THC, Fuscilly Jerry (for the pipe; the colour and pattern make it look like it was made out of a bunch of noodles, and I like the Seinfeld episode soo..), Trogdor, and Obonga.

well I really don't think this topic should be focusing on how I personally choose to live my life, but wth.

I'm going to spend as much of my life doing things that make me happy, and when I hit that curve and begin to die slowly and painfully I'm just going to keep doing whatever it is that still makes me happy, until the day I die.

Although I said I would've quit cigarettes if I really cared so much about my health, but I actually consider quitting all the time. So maybe I'll quit before it's too late, or I might smoke till I die.

None of the above is actually relevant to the topic of weed, unless next you're going to tell me that marijuana will cause me a slow painful death as well.

Quit smoking now.

You'll probably read a lot of garbage literature about how weed is safer than cigarettes. The reason for weak evidence between marijuana and lung cancer has to do with the fact it's hard to control for marijuana-only smokers. What has been found out, however, is that smoking weed in addition to smoking cigarettes definitely increases your chance of lung problems later on. And by "later on" I mean before you reach 55 -- not when you are "old."

I really wish that someone only had to tell me to quit for me to decide to do it. Thx anyways.

It's extremely hard to quit smoking. In many cases it requires a complete lifestyle change. The best way to quit smoking is to seek support from your loved ones, set small goals to achieve, take your time (have patience), and remove bad influences -- this last one being the hardest part and where most people fail. If the bad influences are your loved ones, then you have no hope, unfortunately.

Quite the opposite. Convince them to change together with you.

Yeah, I guess that happens occasionally. I've just never seen it, sadly.
