someone is doing a portuguese version???

unfortunately the vacations is over im brazil, but i can translate it in some weekends...

it would be cool to find someone from portugal to correct the file after i finish, i can do a good generic portuguese, but are some diferences between our portuguese and the others i dunno...

She's Portugese, so she can probably proofread it if it should be continental and not Brazilian. But ony very pedantic people care about the differences, most would be happy to just have a version they understand

by the way, its just to make a copy of english_base.txt, rename it to portuguese.txt and translate the second column and then post the file here?????????

Yeah, that's what you do basically. I guess it's enough for a start if you just translate the strings that appear in the menu etc, but you can translate all the setting descripitions too.

sry, i take loads of time to return here...

some news: the portuguese translation is paused again...

i have translated the menus and some more stuff, a than i make a little test: i call some boys to play portuguese and english version; everybody said that the portuguese version sucks cuz they are used to press "start" instead of "iniciar" and things like that...

so i supossed that the better think to do is dont do a portuguese version, at least in brasil plp prefer to play games in english...

That's inertia. I'd rather have a portuguese version for new players, older players can keep using the english version if they prefer.

Don't let it discourage you! Think about players that don't speak english or any other language that ships with the game.

We have some tens of thousands of downloads of the current release alone. I'm sure there's a good portion of players that would prefer a Portuguese translation.
