0.2.8.2 stopped working... after OS X 10.4.7 update?

Post by rich »

It worked fine for several days... and the only thing I can think of that's changed is the 10.4.7 update that was performed earlier today. I tried uninstalling it & reinstalling it: nothing. I tried logging out & logging back in: nothing.

Every time I try to start it, a window comes up telling me it quit unexpectedly. Here's what it gives me when I click on the "Report" button:
Date/Time: 2006-06-29 00:14:11.650 -0500

Any ideas? I'm new to the Mac & am on a MacBook Pro, if that makes any difference...

Thanks,

Well that doesn't look good. If uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix it, I imagine there's some library thing that's changed...

Am I the only one who's experienced this? Surely others upgraded today...?

When I say I "uninstalled" it, I mean that I dragged the Armagetron icon to the trash, then remounted the disk image & dragged the icon from the disk image to my Applications/Games folder. Is there a file or folder in my Library folder that I should delete before reinstalling again?

All I know is that it's not directly our fault :) The crash comes from one of the third party libraties we incude. I thought Nemo had either included a fixed version or disabled the use of SDL_Mixer alltogether for 0.2.8.2 (we don't really use it), but that seems to be wrong.

So... is there anything I can do about it? Is there anything I can do on my end to get it running again?

Strange... but I just tried it again, and it worked! When I quit it gave me the "quit unexpectedly" dialog box, but now I'm remembering that it did that before, when I quit the game.

Since my successful running of the game, it's hit or miss. Most of the time, it won't open. But about every 5th or 6th time I try, it starts up.

Strange....

I had the same problem, and that fixed it for me. Thanks!
