Care to share ur info?

z < left
x < right
v < brake
capslock < brake (turbo-lock)
cursor left < look left
cursor right < look right
cursor down < look back
s < chat
f1 - f12 < programed chat

ok here are mine:
z = left turn
x = right turn
s = chat (speak)
arrow left = glance left
arrow up = glance back
arrow right = glance right
arrow down = brake/turbo
numpad 0 = move (camera) back \ heard commie has such a setting, haven't used it online yet, would be nice if it wasn't so sluggish but rather an extreme glance
| = command line
/ = change view \ would love if one could bind the specific views to specific keys (like 1, 2, 3 and 4) cycling thtough views is to messy when you just want to snap between 3rd person/smartcam and 1st person/cockpit view
- = zoom in \ for taking screenshots
+ = zoom out \ for taking screenshots
Home/End = window/full screen \ there should be two different setups for windowed mode and full screen mode, as it is they have to be the same size, which doesn't do anyone any good imo
Page Up/Page Down = scroll text back/forward
F1-F12 = instant chat
Prt Sc/SysRq = screenshot
i have removed all other key binds than these (unbound)
the problem with unknown key is you'll have to find out which one it is, because to remove a key bind one has to press that key again (then you get the unbound message). (try the windows key and the list key first, they're both pretty unknown, if you have a lot of special non-standard keys on your keyboard (like eg. som compacs do, with key bound to e-mail start, browser start, etc.) check these. if you can't find it you'll have to reinstall.

Thansk for that info node, I'll guess I'll just leave that there since the last time I tried to get rid of that binding, I had to reinstall eventually so I am just going to let it go.
I set my key config to have all other controls as close to the turning buttons as possible
MOVEMENTS:
turn left - left shift, left cntrl, left cursor
turn right - right shift, right cntrl, right cursor
brake - spacebar, cursor down
chat - c
CAMERA VIEWS:
switch view - v
look left - x
look right - . (perioid)
look up - a
look down - '(quote)
glance left - z
glance right - /,\
glance back - b
zoom in - -
zoom out - +
all other camera keys are defaults (number pad)
CHAT HOTKEYS (just for grins):
f1 - lol
f2 - PROGRAM SCREENSHOT
f3 - hehe
f4 - sweet!
f5 - phuck
f6 - pharts
f7 - phriggin walls!
f8 - NOMS! NOMS! bastages...
f9 - thx
f10 - congrats
f11 - gm
f12 - later
Having "Hi" on a hotkey does not count, you must manually type "Hi" when in a close face off.
still have no idea what a command line is in this program, obviously there are aspects that I will never understand considering I am not a hardcore coder like some of you are. Command line controls are definitely one of those enigmatic mysterys to me.

unknown keys
hey n54 if you have unknown key displayed
just hit delete (big delete key above enter) and it will delete all keys for that entry (no more searching for the unknown key)
then simply hit enter and re-define the key(s) you want

Some recent experimenting I've done:
LEFT VIEWPORT
z - left turn
x - right turn
down arrow - look backwards
up arrow - advance camera forward (in cases of camera lag)
left/right arrows - glance left/right
RIGHT VIEWPORT
. - left turn
/ - right turn
2 (number pad) - look backwards
8 - advance camera
4 - glance left
6 - glance right
This way I can sort of maintain some of the symmetry when using two hands to play two bikes, and when one of them dies, I can easily revert to a layout I'm familiar with.
I used to have space bar bound to brakes, but brakes suck so I unbound it.
That's all.

didnt know so much ppl play with their left hand? i would grind even worse if i did that.. so i changed the keyboard set up to:
left arrow = left
right arrow = right
down arrow = brake/turbo
v = glance left
b = glance back
n = glance right
space = glance back (used it in the old days when i didn't use glance left/right)
, = zoom in
. = zoom out
c = change camera (which i press alot when trying to glance left )

Well I'm right-handed and I use my left hand to play, for some reason it works better for me. I think it may be because of the way I play FPS games, where I use the right hand to control the mouse and left hand to control the keyboard; as a result my left is better at accurately hitting keys while my right is better at random twirling.
And this also means that the bike in my left viewport does consistently better than the one on the right....

Actually I've never done that, I've done it while playing two bikes with two hands. One of the bikes crashes, so I switch its viewport to either watch my other bike or watch some other player.ah, you can set up multiple cycle views and use them for a single player? wow, if i understand correctly you could than have something like a smart cam, an internal cam, and a 'map' going at the same time...
But it's a good idea.. I just don't know if I'm willing to sacrifice 20fps for it...
