Ayaan Hirsi Ali kicked out of the Netherlands

Post by Sabarai »

The Dutch woman who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 has been requested to leave the Netherlands. As a matter of fact, her fellow partymember requested that. She lied about tons of things when she came to the Netherlands and she will now go to the USA to join a thinktank that advices George W. Bush Jr.

Technically, there's no Junior/Senior in the Bushes. Usually, at least around here, when people call Junior Junior, they're trying to imply that he's only President on account of his dad, and that he couldn't have made it there on his own.

Well, does anyone actually think he would have made it there without his dad and without all the money(oil) in the background?

How many of all the presidents where from Texas? :D

3 that come to mind. LBJ and the two Bushes. :) Not sure about JFK, but I have a vague memory of him being Texan.

Actually, Texas governors are supposed to have a pretty good shot at being president, according to the political scientists anyway.

George H.W. Bush was born in Massachusetts. George W. was born in Connecticut, home of Yale University. They transplanted to Texas in 1948 when George the elder graduated from Yale, to pursue the oil. Bush the younger was two years of age. (Prescott Bush, George H.W. Bush's father, was elected as a Senator from CT in 1952.) George the elder served two terms (four years) as a Representative from Texas, then twice ran unsuccessfully for the Senate. He was then appointed to a series of high-level positions: Ambassador to the United Nations, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Chief of the U. S. Liaison Office in the People's Republic of China, and Director of the CIA. None of which are based in Texas. In 1980 he ran in the Republican primary for President, losing to Reagan, but came on as Vice President, leading directly to the presidency. Meanwhile, George the younger attended prep school in Massachusetts, and then Yale. Later, he attended Harvard following his Air National Guard ::cough:: service in Texas. He also worked on a political campaign in Alabama, and for his father's campaign for presidency. And then there's their favorite vacation spot, Kennebunkport, Maine.

So, yeah. The only two Presidents ever born in Texas were Lyndon B. Johnson and Dwight D. Eisenhower. The former was the only "born and bred" Texan. The latter was brought up in Kansas.

Um, the Kennedys are all from Massachusetts. I thought that was common knowledge like Lincoln growing up in a log cabin. ::shrug::

Here's a toast to the likes of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Irshad Manji, Salman Rushdie and all like them; may they continue to speak their mind freely for many more decades :star:

Along with Osama, Abu Hamza, blah blah blah?

Free speech is fine, I am a great believer, but it seems recently that some are more free than others.

It's odd how the extremist muslims allow themselfs more freespeech than they allow us. THe president of Iran said that the Holocaust is a fairytail. And we're not allowed to say anything about their history?

They're talking **** about Jesus and other Christian things, and we're not allowed to make drawings of Muhammed?

Come on, that's no freedom of speech, that's having someone say whatever you like or else kill them.
