I like to go with KISS. I do double bind but realy only use this for gaining speed...and making seals..I know many ppl frown on this though.

(from my fps days)
If find sideways glancing just too confusing and find that back glancing gives u a good view of both sides anyway while still giving you some orientation to the cycle for control.
I have a laptop with nice flat keys so I used to use my turning keys as what you might call a "varying double bind". For double bind u just use one finger and hit right inbetween the two buttons..but you can vary time between successive turns by running/stroking ur finger across the buttons at slower rates. Now I tend to just tap the same key twice at different speeds, but the previous techniques was good as a beginner when you still have to actually think about how fast you pressed the button.
If we knew what we were doing it wouldn't be research
if anybody is interested:
left: left arrow, s, o, j, i, f, a
right: right arrow, left shift, u, l, k, h, d
brake: down arrow, space

Usually I don't use the arrow keys.
