Display your server stats with ease

Post by Swampy »

Invader put together a php script that reads the stat files that are produced by the server and puts them into tables that are easy to read.

Here's the easy steps to follow if you have a PHP BB running:

-->Copy the stat.php file to the folder the PHP BB server is in
-->Copy the tpl file into the templates folder.

You'll also need to create symbolic links (in Linux) to your stats into the same folder so that the stats script can read them.

You may need to customize it for your own needs.

A screen shot is attached so you can see what it will look like.

Thanks for putting this together for our use, Invader!

Nice, but I like my one more :)

I can post the sources if anyone wants them, but my PHP scripts are usually not written in a very good programming style...

To be honest, I'm yet more a fan of mine 'cause it's got graphs! (And it's W3C )

Heh, not that mine wasn't valid XHTML :P I'm just too lazy to write a stylesheet for it.

Graphs... once I find a practical use for them I might include a little mySQL and gd to make them :)

I couldent make mine up to XHTML standards or w/e, phpBB kinda screws that up as it is.

Anyways, this new version fixes some HTML mistackes & as well it allows you to grab stats from other servers, and also search for players in the other server's stats :D

Move stats.php to phpbb_root/stats.php
Move stats.tpl to phpbb_root/templates/{CURRENT TEMPLATE}/stats.tpl
Move stats_socket.tpl to phpbb_root/templates/{CURRENT TEMPLATE}/stats_socket.tpl

CHMOD stats.php to 777 and phpBB root dir to 777. To get other stats from other servers. Type the url in the Grab form. Example: http://www.site.com/server_stats/highscores.txt, click submit and boom :D

Enjoy

my stats page sucks. it uses bash scripts and the layout sucks and the navigation is confusing and it stinks. if you don't enter anything in the search link the stupid script yells at you and if your query (player you are searching) hasn't made the stats the script outputs an insult. it's live stats, too; but you have to reload yourself. i stink.

you can see the crappy page here >>> http://basementunderground.net/tron/

We've finally finished the the CT Wild Fortress Stats page (for now).
You'll find it here:

http://forums.crazy-tronners.com/ladders.php?serv=wild

It only has data starting from a 2/3 weeks ago.
Man, some folk play a lot of tron.

Hi,

Maybe I'll set up a dedicated server soon, and I think a stat script is a really nice feature.

And I really love Tank Program's one ! Is it possible to have the sources ?

Thanks for expressing an interest. Someday I'll release all the sources :D. As soon as I figure out how to create a "private" thingy-majigger in SVN :D. (And yes I've not been paying near enough attention to the whole source management system debate.)
