Master Server wont accept my server

Of where you set the port forwarding, so where you entered the port number and selected between UDP and TCP etc.

I am having a similar problem, I am pretty sure I opend the right port in my router, but the server still shows as unreachable at the bottom of the server list

my ip is 65.92.50.125

server name is Nelson High Server

so is there no way to join your own dedicated server?

Only log entries on my master server look like regular client queries.

Did you set TALK_TO_MASTER to 1? By default it's 0 and the server won't communicate with the master server.

Finally, you may not see it, but that's no guarantees others can't. In this case, I can assure you others can't because my master server has no record for your server. It's outside possible that your server notified someone else's master server and mine hasn't yet gotten the update. Anyway, it's a know problem that for many servers, you can't see it if it's on the same LAN as you. You go to LAN Game in that case to poll it.

The server appears on my master's logs just fine, but it appears to be down now. It was the standard problem of internet servers on the same lan being invisible. Don't worry about it.

After posting that I went to see if my master was running, and it wasn't. It is now, though. So it was not just an outside possibility, but a certainty!

/me reminds himself he still needs the cron job that stops the master server, deletes the logs, and restarts it.

so there is no way for me to play it if I am hosting? even if I host on a different computer on my network?

Yes there is. Just custom connect to 127.0.0.1, as zman already mentioned. You just can't see it on the server list.

Heh, you should also get lower pings when connecting to that address

I feel stupid asking this, but I can't find where zman posted instructions for custom connect to 127.0.0.1, how do set up for that? do I set up normaly and costom connec tthere and others will connect through master servers or does everyone have to custom connect there?

You don't have to do anything on your server to custom connect and everyone else can still connect via the master server list.
You, however, can just use the LAN browser OR the custom connect menu.

I cant see my master server either
cOULD SOMEONE SEND ME THE WHOLE CONFIG FILE prepared and ready to be hosted...just so i KNOW i got it right?Im useing a dedicated server and i dont know the password to get into my router settings..so

and heres my router ip-192.168.0.10 can anyone help.. know one can connect?
