Is there any way to add a chat tyoe setting to the main list online, have area where anyone who online can talk. Like a split screen thing where the bottom has chats, and the top has games.

Once again, something which I think is over our heads, although it is a good idea. People would just sit in master server... It would get full... People wouldn't be able to find games... We run a seperate IRC server, with a hookin to that, that we could do. Just have that constantly in the little console. Just choose in your settings what channel to be in. Then, as soon as you select network game it connects you, if you have the setting enabled. Something like that? Keep your chat key working at all times?

Could we some how set up a parallel master server of or own that only people who had our exe could connect to, and from there play with all sorts of interesting functions...
If you guys help me along in learning how to program I would be more than ready to learn, I know a decent amount butnot enough for me to be helpful yet... I have Visual Studios .net and have yet to use it, along with a number of other software licenses.

Yes, change the master.srv file to point to our new master list server. One of us would have to put it up.Seleucus wrote:Could we some how set up a parallel master server of or own that only people who had our exe could connect to, and from there play with all sorts of interesting functions...

I think when I get home from work tonight, I'll read the majority of posts in Armagetron Development and "harvest" the relevant information. Right now, it is tucked away in various posts in little bits and pieces. Also, there are great posts outside of the Armagetron Development area that would be especially useful. I think they are in another part of the forum. I'll have to do a search to find out where. I do remember those posts though. So, I know they are there.
