Upcoming Downtime
I've been informed that on Monday evening the forums server will be shutdown to be relocated. The approximated date of start up would be sometime Thursday, but possibly sooner. Is this too long a period of downtime? Should I find an alternate host in the meantime? Thoughts please...

It's damn long all right...
But I think it's ok if you get a message show up like "sorry, the armagetron forums are down due to server relocation at the moment. We are sorry for this inconvienience. Please check again in a few days." or something along those lines.
I mean, there are more active forums...

explain? What happens when you try to connect with IE?
I'm guessing "no", I can't imagine Tank intentionally doing something like that. Unfortunately, I can't look myself--no IE.
Um, all the old guru3.sytes.net links that led to the forums are broken now. If you're using a bookmark that uses an old guru3.sytes.net link, then that's what's not working. Tank had told us awhile back that at some unknown point in the future this would happen, and the server move has made it happen. (so I finally updated my own bookmark

I'm not really sure how, but I think you're right. I used the same link in firefox as I have in IE, but I cut and pasted the site address and it worked fine.
Either way, problem solved... but I'm still pissed that I have about 40 threads to look through 'cause I thought the forums were still down.
EDIT: Now I'm really pissed, 'cause all of the threads got marked as read when I opened it up in IE, son of a b**ch!

I hate that. Happens to me a lot. Like, a whole bunch of posts will be made, and then while I'm reading them my family will need me to do something. In the meantime, my cookie expires. Or I'll start the game to check something someone posted about, and it'll reboot my laptop. (I've figured out why that's happening, or at least a very reasonable hypothesis anyway, hopefully nvidia will update the driver and I can test it)
We need a "search for unread posts" feature. This is, to my knowledge, the top requested feature on the forums.
