The Zone proposal for Bacchus has an on-exit trigger planned. ie: you trigger the zone by leaving it. In the proposal, all the capacities of a Zone are parameters, allowing any mix and match imaginable.Your_mom wrote:Just thinking, would it be possible to have a modified winzone where you die if you leave it? that would create an interesting new mode.
If you are interested to know more about this, you can search the forum for the Zones-a.gz document (IIRC). It is in the Development discussion named "Does the server support this". Sorry I cannot provide a link at the moment.

oups, forgot to add an important bit.Your_mom wrote:Just thinking, would it be possible to have a modified winzone where you die if you leave it? that would create an interesting new mode.
This is ideas how _I_ like them: not a "single usage" idea but one enabling up to new possibilities.
From your-mom stating it like this, I've imagined 3 usages for it:
- all players start in such a death zone. The zone wanders slowly on the grid. They players have to keep inside or die by leaving it. Like having a very small arena (100 of radius) that cleans up on one side.
- Similar to before, but there is a winzone and a slightly smaller deathzone inside. the deathzone ossiliate inside the win zone. players have to keep inside, but as it move, sometime it expose the edge of teh winzone allowing for a lucky escape.
- death zone is on the leader of a team, with all its team players also in it. The leader's byke doesnt leave a trace. His job is to keep the umbrella over its team as they fight, or risk killing its own teammates.
Its 3 examples, but there must be thousand out there. It really enables new possibilities. So that is why i really love that idea.
Just keep them rolling ;)
