Some review

Post by Lucifer »

Can I get some review of this page? I put in what I know based on setting up maps on a server, but it's intended for regular users and may be completely wrong.

not bad, I added the windows directories though. Ah, but keep in mind that I was counting on WinXP when I did it. 2000 and NT systems should be the same though (and those running older versions are simply stupid).

MAP_URI should be removed from the code. Luke-Jr made MAP_FILE work with some/folder/and/a/file-version.type.extention(/where/to/get/it/on/the/resource/manager/or/embeded/web/server)

I'm not sure of the exact syntax. This method has the advantage of requiring only one entry for each resource.

It's a very good idea to make that page. A few very minor items:
-You might have to explain a bit more about installing the game in the resource directory, or at least point to a page that does it.
- Give an example of the "automatic" and manual structure.
- Should mention that AA searchs 3 locations for a file: included, automatic and manual. Doesn't need to be a long text.

Yes, that is one good page you put there! I'm sure it will help many players and game admin.
