Arma madness!

Post by spirit »

To Mr Tank Program and all the other developers.
Since the end of Tigers arma gameplay has changed to an idiotic (I´m sorry to use that word) outer rim wall grinding madness. The only goal is to make 1000 180 turns and wait till the others pass. Where are the times when you could see nice fights and one or two 180s. Now every noob that enters can do that without any experience you had to have earlier.

I wish you all ( Tank, z-man,others...), all the best to launch 2.8. as soon as possible. And please bring back Tigers Network so winning is a matter of skill again and not of endless boarer fights. Thx!

We have this new rubber behavior that makes single, well timed grinds closer than repeated 180ing; using 180s to seal off the rim or any other area is no longer possible. Using it for camping and acceleration is not prevented by that, however; that's partly possible with other settings (RUBBER_DELAY, for one).

Who wants to build a map that is just like the default map, but has lots of small, invisible, irregular spikes around the rim so it gets ungrindable?

After 0.2.8.0 is out I plan to bring back Tigers, just so you know.

please try to emulate the old 0260 'hit a wall and die' behavior instead of this infinite rubber crazyness

thanks in advance 8)

Well, you two: then please connect to the 0.2.8 test server and give feedback :) We can't go back to the 0.2.6 rubber exactly because that was mostly shaped by two unpredictable bugs; the settings can replicate them only partly, but with better consistency. It's now predictable.
Together we can try to recreate the 0.2.6 feeling as closely as possible; right now it's a bit arbitrary, but low on rubber.

Note: high rubber settings seem to be more popular by far :( The test server had far more visitors when it was on the technical debug settings...

When my server is up (i have to fool around with all the new settings and make it like zman said, how one good grint>lots of dbs and make the perfect server) it will be run on the most current beta or release and updated as they update etc...so ice and crew if you want to play there and test go for it.
