Armagetron Media on YouTube

Post by Kronkleberry »

Posting here because I feel like these forums get the occasional lurker who might be looking for a taste of light cycle nostalgia.

Something to know is that it is 2023 and Armagetron is still played every day. We have pickup 6v6 Fortress and Sumo quite often, and Yellow Sub has its traffic as well. If you feel now like you're missing out you can join us at discord.gg/dcpaauj :D

If you're just here to relive some of your days on the grid, some of us have made some content for you. I recently compiled some highlights into this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhn9rJt ... roductions

The rest of my youtube channel can be found here.

Syllabear streamed and commentated some major tournaments.
Ampz has made some compilations.
Nanu has a youtube channel with some compilations on it.
Noodles also has made a video.

You might recognize some familiar names in these videos; a good chunk of players have made some kind of return since the initial COVID-19 lockdowns, and quite a few have actually stuck around. Hope this post serves you with any dose of this game you might be looking for.

Maybe add this short video to the list, taking a look at Armagetron from the historical perspective of snake-like games.

Last month, Koala (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyS7qa ... ue87PzNUZA) made something quite impressive:

"tron plays but they get increasingly more satisfying"

That really shows the tension of a Fort battle well.

Ellis opened up a fine channel that might gather some views for Armagetron. For some reason, the game is gaining in popularity right now.

I'd wish Ellis to use the home-made breakcore music in a future video. And maybe an ASMR video of a really courageous player using triple-binds. That must be looking wild!

I'll be revisiting this topic soon, but in short, are there downloadable videos I can use when making a YouTube video? I'm about to review TRON, the movie, and I'd like to drop in a lot of arma footage and some discussion...
