why is it that this online game if fraught with so many huge egos???
i originally started playing tron to have some fun, waste some time and chat to friends
i didnt join it to be sworn at, abused, judged and harrasssed by ppl i dont know
if this was a "real" life game, id quit, but then again if this was a "real" life game those players would be kicked off the court
i dont play in the servers where the arrogant and super foul mouthed hang out, so why is it that they seek me out and come to a server and harrass me there??
why cant they just leave me alone on the few servers i chose to play on??? even changing my nic makes no difference
im in tron to play and have fun, not to put up with testy teenages/adults who cant control their hormones
ive been told "its just a game, dont let them get to you" but if thats so, why is it that ppl get get so angry when they are kicked or banned or polled against etc??? dosent the same apply??? "its just a game"
it reminds me of schoolyard bullies and i guess by abusing and bad mouthing ppl its their way of making themselves look tough, well, thats all well and good, but grow up
even though im not a good player, i still enjoy the strategies of the game, the interaction with friends and the choice of the few varied servers i play on, dont get me wrong though, tron has some fantastic ppl in it, friendly, helpful etc its just sad that the bad ones spoil it for the rest of us
but really, why should i be saying all this?? afterall, its only a game, or is it???

Or just turn console output off entirely— I wish there was a way to just filter out all player-chat, but still get server messages, such as when you core dump someone.

dont treat the ppl that do like to play on thoses servers you dont like, badly
there are plenty of servers to go around, go play on the others
i dont go to the servers that i dont like, why cant other ppl just do the same instead of complaining about it all the time???
there is a saying that comes to mind, squeaky wheel gets the most attention
anyway, dont criticize one for what you youselves do (as in having an opinion ) think about it ppl, but hey, its only a game, or is it???

That is exactly my opinion; If you don't like a server, don't play there and be done.
Of course there is no Master Rule Book, but on some servers, certain strategies
are frawned opon for various reasons. On some servers this applies more, on some less.
However, you should always find a server to your liking... there are enouh.

If you want to play with adults, find a server with adults. If you want to play with children, well, looks like you've found the server.
Personally, I find that on the servers I play there are a lot of really good people, with real senses of sportsmanship (except for maybe marketjunkie, but even he smooths out after awhile), who are genuinely fun to play with. It's like going to the park and jumping into a basketball game, or a soccer game, or what have you. And everyone's cool, and it's all fun, and they're all strangers, but you sometimes see some of the same people. (Well, a lot, c'mon this is "where everybody knows your naaaaaaame")
Part of liking a server is liking the crowd that plays there, you can't say "Oh I like these settings, but you all need to behave the way I want you to so I can play here comfortably". If you like the settings but not the players, find out who the admin is, ask him for the settings, and then setup your own server with those settings where you *can* make the rules.
Edit; And just like there's no sign at the entrance to my neighborhood with a list of posted rules, there ain't never gonna be any such thing here. Each server has its own, and its up to you to find out what behavior is generally accepted and what isn't, and if you disagree, find another server. We all take people just as they are (even if I do think he should shorten his name to "Runner"), and we don't expect people to play where they aren't happy.

thats is what i have done and i hope others that complain and run those servers down do the same
