In that way, this thread has succeeded. My hope was to inspire some new ideas and attitudes.

Yep, it spawned some threads. Anyways, wasn't our goal to "spawn" more players?

A tragedy is commonplace but in the end they go away.

Yes, that is the idea. But, the hope is that what this thread and others get people in this community to do new and different things toward that goal.

Probably cause we're spending more of our time playing than responding to posts on the forums

Ive been doing that for years, **** your patting yourself on the back.

I help noobs too, even to the detriment to my own score, and I dislike losing.

BTW, would it be feasible to link the 0.4 client in a more prominent way on the main site, if it's marked as experimental? I think some people would prefer that over 2.8.3...

That is a wonderful idea. Many developers allow you too use a developing/nightly/whatever build. Would make out easier then it being a secret to new users.

+1
I've just started using 0.4 recently and I certainly won't be going back to 0.2 by my own choice.

I also think it'd be nice to allow it to be easier to find, a lot of people are always asking "Where's the .4 client?" since it's typically buried in forum posts that a person new here wouldn't be able to find

Heh, nice to see I'm not alone on this. Maybe even add a message saying that it includes tutorials and features that help improve one's game/point out what makes it different from 0.2.8.3 (apart from being supposedly instable; 0.2.8.3 is more instable for me and often randomly closes* or can't be maximized under Win8, 0.4 never had these issues for me...)

*I didn't get around making a debug recording yet, will do in a few months...if I don't forget it, that is
