Re: Shovel 4
Then we make the cut off at 16 teams?
We shouldn't go switching up the format that is for sure.. I know my team signed up solely because it was a TST and wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was different.

All in favor for making the cut off at 16 teams? (we would need 15 more teams to do option 2 to keep it a tst format, for a total of 32 teams)
Re: Shovel 4
I probably can't make this, I informed my teammate so it's up to him whether he wants to find a new teammate or remove our team
bye
Re: Shovel 4
If your partner needs another mate, I would volunteer. If y'all decide to remove, Warmonger and Pacifist would happily take the 16th spot.
Re: Shovel 4
You want to limit the cut-off a few days before the tournament? Some people don't know when they're available until closer to the tournament itself. You can still work around something that will make it possible for more teams to participate. We usually get around 20-24 signed up teams iirc, make it work.
If you wanted to limit it, you should have brought it up earlier. Make a discussion for next Shovel if it continues to be an issue of lack of teams, you cannot change it to a first come first serve format out of nowhere. It's not fair to close the sign ups early while people are still figuring out their plans.

Re: Shovel 4
Nope, you can still sign up RudyRudycantfail wrote:Is it too late to sign up for this?
There is no reason to change the bracket system 4 days before the tournament and it would be really unfair to other people who still wants to sign up.
Re: Shovel 4
Okays, ill make brackets Friday @ 4pm EDT So you got til then.
FYI we're back at 16 teams, so I going to stick with option 1 due to it keeps a tst format & its uses less server resources

Well I hope we can have 8 servers. xoxoOverrated wrote:Back to 17, good luck!Cody wrote: FYI we're back at 16 teams, so I going to stick with option 1 due to it keeps a tst format & its uses less server resources
You may have noticed I went ahead and added numbers to the brackets, these numbers have nothing to do with the order you have signed up, but they will be used in for assigning teams to their servers (yes it will be random)
Re: Shovel 4
I have 2 questions.
1- can leaders still request to play in USA/EU like it used to be?
2- did ritsuka give the management of the tournament to you?

1- It doesn't seem to look like in shovel you can request USA/EU preference
2- This isn't ritsuka tournament, its the community's.
And I didn't see anyone else volunteer for brackets.Shovel Wiki Page wrote: The Tronic Shovel
Note: most of this is copied from the Ladle page.
The Tronic Shovel is part of the Tron International Competition, an ambitious idea to create self-organising tournaments for Armagetron. The Shovel is the monthly version of the Tronic, and is played in the Sumo game mode (more specifically, team sumo). Depending on the amount of teams signed up, the Shovel is a single-elimination tournament with teams starting in the quarter or semifinals. All games will be played out over a few hours, so plenty of excitement as well as a climax

Thanks for volunteering to do brackets, Cody

I'm not sure what's with the numbers in the brackets but I added a new team and I hope we can fill the 3rd spot from one of those servers with only 2 teams. Thanks
