Re: PM vote trial re: liz Ladle 83 3 warnings suspended 1 La
I appreciate the constructive criticism. I thought I understood the rules better than I actually did, that much is certain. However, I do now get the logic behind the system. For a first time offender that does not re-offend the penalty is fair. For those who re-offend, the penalties escalate rather quickly. I doubt that I fully get every bit of stuff there.

Thanks Compguy for handling doing this
Sine, prematurely? Liz came out and said she did it. Now yes I agree there our other parties involved, but that I believe is meant for a different vote on a different day, correct?

We don't need 50 threads dedicated to this. We don't need to waste people's time with PM's for every player in question when it can be rolled into one. It usually takes a few days for stories to come out and for logs to be read. In US law, this pretrial process is called "discovery" and allows plaintiffs/defendants to mount a solid case. It allows for the greatest amount of evidence to be collected. What good is admission of guilt from someone you think is a deceiver? Is it a ruse? The discovery process allows us to see the connection between all suspect parties.Gazelle wrote:Sine, prematurely?
Sorry for legal rant, about a quarter of my friends are lawyers, haha.

But if you intend to plead guilty. Cases are not built and investigations are not carried on. Right?

Understandable sine, Liz could be lying to cover someone up, although I highly doubt it. More information could present itself, although im sure most of us highly doubt it and we can only go off of what we have
1 ladle ban is kind of small in my opinion but if that's how the system works then alrighty.

Not really. Pleading guilty on its own is not enough to prosecute. More evidence than that is needed, because as Sine said, not everyone who says they 'did it', has really done it. They could be forced into it or just want attention, etc.Gazelle wrote:And yeah tak that is usually how it works.
Not that that would be likely to happen on a game like this

I slightly edited the Penalty Box page. The warnings are supposed to be listed separately, and they don't all expire at once.

Wap depending on what type of case it is, if you plead guilty, they may give you a lesser sentence. Im not saying that it's that way always, or that they automatically believe you when you do. Just saying it works that way often.

But that has no relevance to the point being discussed. :pGazelle wrote:Wap depending on what type of case it is, if you plead guilty, they may give you a lesser sentence. Let's be serious, whether we have lawyer friends or not, none of us are real lawyers. We can all be civil about this and just do what needs to be done.
