19:30 GMT is correct, but with Daylight Saving Time being implemented on Sunday in North America, it'll be at 12:30 pm Pacific, 1:30 pm Mountain, 2:30 pm Central and 3:30 pm Eastern. Make sure you set your clocks right (unless your clocks do it themselves).

Ok wow I didn't expect 12 people to sign up for season 1, that's awesome.

New rule (kinda): Those who attend the blitz are automatically ranked higher than those who don't (obviously). Those who don't show up will be ranked by when they signed up, so if Thilo and Opara don't show, Thilo will be ranked higher because he signed up earlier. Hopefully we won't need this rule to determine who starts in which division.

The blitz tourney is on Sunday. Starts at 19:30 GMT sharp. If you show up late, depending on how late and whether you let me know in advance, you might not be able to join, so be on time. Most of the info will be on a new wiki page tomorrow, but I will explain everything at start of tourney too, so all you need to know is: be in ##acl at 19:30 GMT on Sunday and be able to open and view google spreadsheets. The length of the tournament depends entirely on how many show up, but it'll be 2 hours max (with everyone showing) assuming nothing goes wrong.


Top 6 will play in division 1 and the other 6 will play in division 2 for the first season.

just a well done and thank you to titan, the blitz tournament went seamlessly tonight, with no hiccups, a very organised and clear google spreadsheet, and when we all learned how easy it was to report the matches went very quickly.

for anyone who was skeptical about joining due to not being the best at chess, i managed to make it into division one so no one was a true pro, apart from concord but he hax, please sign up for the next one

I'm totally down for random tournaments with this format; be it 1 minute, 3 minute or 5 minute time control. was a lot of fun.

Season 1 starts now!

The wiki has been updated. All you need to do now is play your games within 3 months. Don't wait until the last month though; if we all finish our games quickly, the next season can be started earlier.

includes: who played (with which color), who won, & game url. doesn't have to be fancy if you don't want it to be.

may i suggest a universal acl time for people to be on the irc so we can get our games done. obviously its not mandetory but it might help people, say like 8 gmt every eve or w/e people who have time/the patience/ the effort to play a game or 2 go to the channel.
