Because most people wouldn't know what congruence modulo 4 is. In fact, I'd suggest using left and right instead of the relatively uninformative sideways, to encode the derivative. In other words, you won't have to look at the previous post to figure out whether to go up or down. Let's go clockwise because it's what most clocks do: right, down, left, up, repeat.

That's about as pointless as a condom machine in the Vatican.

I don't think it's really possible to go either right, or left of a word, is it? He was just making it easier to remember for nabs like me .Sideways would either be meaning the same, or an internal part of a thing like Jonathan did with: Concrete <-(sideways)-> Motor, both are internals of machines, but whether that would be left, or right would all depend on what way you looked at it. Let's keep it as sideways or please explain how you mean

You're right on it, Convict, only just missing the point of it all: if we do it clockwise it's much easier to know what's next after a "sideways" word. After "right" comes down, and after "left" comes up. It has no further effects, as far as I can tell.
