Here are a few actual vehicles it reminds me of; these being three-wheelers, however:
Yellow golf cart

Don't know the manufacturers of those.
There was some other 3-wheeler I made a mental note of the other day, while watching "American Pickers," I think it was. Reminded me of that model. I'll actually write it down if I catch it in a rerun.

Also, Daihatsu Midget Model DKA.

And, just as an aside, a few other models I ran across while looking up the previous:

After World War II, the company was not allowed to produce aircraft. One alternative the company came up with was the three wheeled motorcycle/bubble car or Kabinenroller (cabinscooter) KR175 / KR200, which was designed by an aircraft engineer Fritz Fend.

The cars were actually made by Fend's own company in the Messerschmitt works at Regensburg and Willy Messerschmitt had very little to do with the vehicles other than ruling that they carried his name. Production of the KR200 ceased in 1964.

Less known is the fact that the Messerschmitt factory also produced prefabricated houses, which were designed as "self-building-kits" mainly based on an alloy frame work.

I did not know that.

We should start a movement to restructure the entire military-industrial complex to create silly little cars (eco-friendly, of course) and stuff.

I'd totally drive that Isetta, or something similar.

Speaking of eco-friendly, when you think about it normal cars are ridiculous. Without mentioning the usual things, they weigh a ton, have a huge surface area, and drive at speeds where drag really counts. That's just so horribly inefficient. Convenience wins, I guess.

uh... how did we get to a real life car being made to run in armagetrons engine to hitler and bombs extactly?

here are the links, i'll upload an ase file when i have compressed it in an appropriate way. I used a detailed dae file from the google sketchup page, then i 'tronified' it (i simplified the shape, deleted unnecessary parts, added some new ones and stretched the model in a certain way).
