feature idea: log "screenshot"

Post by Concord »

It would be neat to have a way to "screenshot" a match's worth of score log, or chat log, by a client. It'd just save plain text to a file, like the normal server log. Maybe I'm alone in thinking it'd be useful. Thoughts?

You mean the same as that, but for everyone, in their "var" folder or something?

Would be ok i suppose, don't think i'd ever go back and look at mine though.

I agree this would be good. The only thing we have is ladderlog.txt and it only saves information from a local game, and that info is practically useless. You would have to write a script for it to make meaningful. (Note: I use the .2x branch, I don't know if there is anything good in .4)

Not sure if this is what you're requesting, however this could be cool: Assign a screenshot button through the client, when pressed, all screenshots go to a 'screenshot' folder in the main directory. That would be extremely convenient.

Already the case, Thump. I think the default on PC's is, oddly enough, 'print screen;' can't recall what it is for Mac, but you can just go to your Global Keyboard Configuration to see and change it if you want. The first screenshot you take will create a screenshots folder in your main armagetron directory.

That's not what he's talking about, though.
