Many of your loose servers don't even have rules listed anywhere.
When I first started playing a lot, it took me several trips to those servers to figure out why people were getting pissed off at me. I didn't even know to ask what rules I was breaking because I didn't realize there were any! It was a terrible experience, and because of it I stay away from all things "loose".
If you don't want new players coming into your games and stabbing, don't put loose servers up on the public master listings (where any new player that downloads the game can easily join them) without somehow explaining what people are supposed to do.

They can't do that either, because there are so many differing versions, as well as arbitrary and capricious applications of their own rules.0000 wrote:somehow explaining what people are supposed to do.

And, most people can't be bothered to read. One of my servers says "low rubber" in the server options, the MOD, and the round console message, but every time I player there I get at least one person who is like, "omg no rubber! wtf!"Phytotron wrote:They can't do that either, because there are so many differing versions, as well as arbitrary and capricious applications of their own rules.0000 wrote:somehow explaining what people are supposed to do.

It would be nice if the automated message at the beginning just said something like "In Loose you can't touch walls" Or something simple like that. We all agree overall on that one rule. Just try not to touch the wall. Also I remember when I was first learning. It is a problem that no one ever explains the rules. I always tell new people the rules, we've been more friendly to them unless they are unwilling to follow the rules.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get people to actually read. On one of my loose servers, it explains every round that you ain't supposed to hit walls at all, yet people still come in wondering why they would get suspending for stabbing. My other server says to log in to play, and so many people can't figure it out when it pops up right in your face before you can even see the game.
A few people actually care to try and learn, most don't. Those who do, I help out, but the others I just let go.
