The point of being encouraged to change your votes (edit your post) is that every vote becomes a nomination. Vote for who YOU think should win and if others see it and agree, they'll follow your lead! It's fun! Official nominations limit who is considered. Likewise, the "pay no attention to what's behind the curtain" type voting always left people with the sense that something fishy and biased was going on...
