Re: Ladle 60
Is there any place to have a look at the brawl rankings?
Would be nice to know.

Re: Ladle 60
I've collected some stats here and there but they are incredibly uninteresting. There are only two teams that both regularly play and win (R,U). CTF just isn't a popular game, at least not outside the 20 or so people that play it regularly.
Re: Ladle 60
How about the player stats? How come those aren't out every ladle?
I'm sure every participant would be interested...

Re: Ladle 60
Just like the scores are submitted after each match, why can't we have the server admins submit the logs for all the matches every ladle?
I don't exactly know how everything is done but doesn't the sites like gridstat.com keep updating automatically?
Isn't it just a matter of combining different server logs into one?
Is this the manual labor part you are talking about?
How tremendous is this work? Can't we get volunteers to split this work so we can have it every ladle? Am I the only one interested in seeing this kinda stuff?

i would like to have a look at them too
but it seems to be a lot of work to get them every month.

Re: Ladle 60
dlh used to use gridstats but iirc it was a lot of work for him, I guess you needed to filter logs from dozens of servers to make sure it only counted legitimate rounds.
Re: Ladle 60
Is it that difficult to only take out the log from the start of the match to the end of the match?
Also i'm not sure if this is possible but instead of filtering out the logs after the matches, can't we activate a site like gridstat.com when each match starts and stop it when the match finishes?

Re: Ladle 60
This is one of those things that come up from time to time and there appears to be no easy solution.
How about another approach: Is there any way to siphon out the individual performance scores from debug recordings? Can you take a recording, play it back through Arma, and have Arma output a file to work with? if so, we could have a team of people recording matches, working with those recordings using scripts to filter out data, then submitting it to a central location (like this thread) where it can be compiled and hosted somewhere (like the wiki).
It would still be a lot of manual labor, but not an impossible feat.

Re: Ladle 60
I dunno how much harder this would be, but another option would be to add a command (serverside) such as start_recording that's used in place of start_new_match by team leaders, and then the servers themselves would know when to start collecting data (or what specifically to send to gridstats, however you'd like).

I would help you with the recordings and stuff if we gonna try this.

Re: Ladle 60
Now it will take me less than an hour and I should make fewer mistakes too. Last night I wrote a very ugly Python script to take a wiki bracket and filter all the stats out of it. I'm actually amazed it works, though I haven't spent any time trying to break it.sine.cry wrote:You realize I do all this stat-stuff by hand, right? And it takes me over an hour every month to do it?

Re: Ladle 60
I have a feeling that it hasn't been updated lately but
doesn't the website gridstats.com update the stats automatically?
Does anyone know who's site that is?

Re: Ladle 60
Gridstats.com only updates automatically with servers that are setup to do that. At this point, I think only Mudpuddle 2 is setup for that.
