Ladle 59 Date

Post by þsy »

Please delete this thread if this is already in discussion, but I couldn't find any topics talking about it

Ladle 59 falls on the night of the Euros football final (Sunday 1st July), and I'm sure the majority of European tronners (and maybe a few American/other tronners too) will be watching it

Are we going to move it to the following week?

Representing the majority of people who don't give a flying f*** about the Euro cup, I'm cool with moving it. More fun to have more people show.

And to Americans potentially against this: think about what leverage this will give us on Super Bowl Sundays and the next 4th of July that falls on a Sunday.

Hmm I'm pretty sure we moved it once because of the super-bowl. maybe the year before? :ghost:

edit: I just checked the past three years and it seems like we never moved it because of the superbowl

the super bowl is a bad comparison. it does not occur at the same time as the ladle.

I think he means does not*

The Super Bowl is always after the Ladle so there is no overlap.

Polska is eliminated therefore this whole cup business is worthless. Missing one month won't kill anyone (this is coming from someone who has missed plenty of them including last ladle). It'll be interesting to see what's left of the ladle however.

As Concord said - most ladles finish before the superbowl begins (as it was last superbowl). The Euro finals fall slap-bang in the middle of the ladle :(

"It'll be interesting to see what's left of the ladle" ... What's interesting about having a small ladle? I don't see the problem in moving it to the following week - we've moved it before for New Years right?

it'll be interesting how many euros show up, you're making some assumptions about other people attending or not.
