I think so, at first the Team.uNk cool trainers team fulfilled the requirements but now that nubi is not playing for them anymore they don't.

The team must have either:
The same captain (or at least one captain out of the two, if there were two) and three additional players who were on the challenge board the previous ladle or
Five players who were on the challenge board in the previous ladle. Player names are restricted to the same guidelines as team names (above).

uNk does not follow either of those, plus it was a mixture of 3 players from each SP and uNk, so neither fit it.

14 teams. Revolver and Rogue Tronners get a bye. UNA didn't qualify on the Challenge Board, so they will have to go through the appeals process to play on Sunday. Sorry, UNA, but I warned you about that last month too. It's a bad habit to just TBA/TBD your whole team.

You won't get matched up against a top 4 team until the semis from the previous ladle.

In cases like this, a seeded team gets a bye. Fortress is a game of endurance as much as skill/strategy. Events can take over 5 hours. Not having to play the first round might keep you fresh longer, though I know some players prefer a "warm-up" round (assuming you got an easy slot). The seeding does keep the bracket more balanced, if only a little bit. We rarely have all the "good" teams on one side, though it still happens (I know we have more good teams overall and that helps too). So whether you like/hate seeding or think there is no advantage to it, you would be hard pressed to find an argument against it. There seems to be no disadvantage, but if there is (and you can prove it convincingly) we would all like to hear it -- in a new thread of course.

Well, Thump. uNa needs at least 4 players on a team in order for it to qualify to play the ladle (it's a requirement, in the rules). Currently it looks like this:

The United Noobs of Armagetron (Nelhybel, TBD (Nelhybel@forums, TBD), TBA)

This means that you guys do not qualify. If you'd like to edit your team now with a roster, you can ask teams with a bye if they'd be willing to play you guys, starting with bye 1.

R is willing to give up our bye to play you, just make sure you have your team edited correctly.

Also, I'd like to give a suggestion. Instead of doing the TBD, TBA thing, you guys should just put up your full roster. I'm not sure how many are in uNa, but it'll prevent the hassle of this (especially when you've been given warnings that this might happen). And if not enough can make it, you can always remove your team from the list before we do brackets. :]

I warned you guys not to sign up like that last month. Read your own forum.

There is an appeals process to get into Ladle for teams that fail to sign up on time, or fail to sign up properly. Read about it on the wiki, do it, and don't screw up again!
