Yeah, that's not country. Almost everything called "country" these days isn't country. It really began diverging in the late 60's with "country rock," then really took off in more of a pop vein in the 70's, and has only diverged more and more, and become worse and worse ever since. As an illustration of how absurd it has gotten, this stuff now being labeled "alt country" is a great deal more authentically country-sounding the stuff in the mainstream being marketed as "country."

Aw, come on, man. I'm not much of a Beach Boys fan, but comparing them to the Bee Gees is a total disgrace to them. You may as well have compared them to Hanson or somebody; there's just no comparison.
