Nothing cody, or anyone, does will make this tourney (or any tron tourney) "official".Gonzap wrote: If you want to make it official use seeds like in ladles, but use them from the very start not after the randomization. Pick the first 4 or 8 and seed them in different sides of the brackets and everyone happy.
I beg to differ. It's "officialty" is implied by the participants. The act of signing up and playing is a vote of confidence to the organizers. Anything organized by and played by Arma players is an official Arma event.INW wrote:Nothing cody, or anyone, does will make this tourney (or any tron tourney) "official".
Thank you. gonzap didn't understand what I was saying. Nice clarification.sinewav wrote:I beg to differ. It's "officialty" is implied by the participants. But you are also correct in the sense there is no governing body in Arma to determine something is official. A better word might be "traditional" since Ladle is the most successful long-term tournament. Any event modeling itself after it would seemingly have a greater sense of officiality.
Note that the problem has always been less about procedure and more about transparency. It's just a good practice in any competition for organizers to let the players know they are being treated fairly. For the 1v1SB Sumo Event we are (by participating) electing Cody as the sole judge of a player's skills. All his changes are likely to be made without notice or explanation. This of course is not the best way to run a tournament, but since the stakes are low there is plenty of room to extend a little faith.
He clearly meant official as in "legitimate", rather than what you're discussing with governing bodies and whatever, lol. Problem solved?INW wrote: Nothing in tron is officially official. See what I did there? teehee.
