Any Questions?

Post by Photon »

People on tron can often be very reluctant to answer your questions. I remember a long time ago when i whined and begged until someone told me how to to type in color. Then one day a person named ID-= Arilou< (tags may be wrong idk) told me how to do a code which changes up your color every round. You press the "con" button, right under escape with the ~ on it, and type: player_random_color 1, of course player_random_color 0 turns it off. Any other questions? I'll try my best to answer.

This shouldn't be under strategy, and yes, this is widely known. Its funny how you come off as arrogant, like you know everything about it, whereas this is nothing new at all.

edit: If you really wanted to be helpful, rename the topic PLAYER_RANDOM_COLOR 1.

I appreciate that you're willing to help new players but you'll see that they never read this thread. Questions along the lines of "how do i get two trail colors"/"how can i get the html codes in the chat" have been asked very often here, and most newbies open their own thread for it (you're the best example for that) instead of using the search function.
And it's --=}ID< Arilou ;)

how about you encourage those lazy people who just keep asking questions to instead go try and look for the answer themselves?

As somebody who answers a lot of these questions in-game, I can answer why many don't, and why I sometimes get annoyed with them. I do tell people to read the wiki, give them the web address, the forums, etc. I find it tiresome to continually answer these questions, in-game, and when people are pointed to the wiki or forums, or both, they refuse to take the time to read the darned directions. I, and many of the others on this forum, have taken the time to read the wiki, search the forums, and learn for ourselves. Quite frankly, my own standard in answering these questions is simple. I will answer one simple question, period. However, when curiosity strikes the questioner, and the questions are better answered by them reading the wiki, etc, I point them to the appropriate resource. If they take the time to read it, and don't understand it, that is another issue, and I will gladly help.
One of the many reasons that I have loved this game so much is the fact that there is some documentation, and an active community and developers that can be reached for help, guidance, and support. That is rarely found in the Open Source Gaming world out there. All that is asked on the part of the developers and community is that players and others looking for further help read some of the documentation. Seems to be a fair deal to me.

Go to a server and type /login Yourname@forums (your name here, case sensitive). Wait for the password-thing and type it in, press enter. Create an instant chat for the /login part if you wish to type less.

Why would he name the topic "PLAYER_RANDOM_COLOR 1" when he specifically said it's a topic for asking questions? The title is fine, his attitude is fine, you're whining for the sake whining.

Take a seat.

Just type it in chat, not in console.

Did it occur to you or anyone that you still did not write in color?

Anyways add a "0x" and a 6 digit code (numbers/letters) and it turns into a color.

I like that teen finally pointed out what no one else seemed to notice. Photon wanted to know how to type in color, but the answer he got, and subsequently gave, was how to randomly change your cycle color. Excellent support there.
