Flag Fortress Drama? Z-Man hopes not.

This is one of those games I always meant to revisit. Lot of potential with the idea, but haven't been able to execute it properly...

By combining maps and settings of other popular modes FFC is nothing like your flagfort. Rest assured sine you had nothing to do with FFC that is why it plays nothing like yours in any way. All the pieces are there for everyone else to make their own version of everything that is out there.

Do you want it to go away? Do we need some kind of approval from the folks at Armagetron forums to do something different? Durka and P4's names are on the oldest sumo configs floating around here. I don't see them demanding tribute for their contributions. Probably because there efforts were collaborative as is everything in this game and in open source.

p.s. if you think this is a simple copy of some old settings please replicate Comp and I won't share them with you now cause you can't play nice in the sandbox siney whiney.

That was random. Maybe I missed something, but sine didn't say you couldn't have your server..or in anyway try to discredit yours (except by wanting some tweaks, which he did in his own server.)

Wow, this is very interesting. Here's what happened just before Arilou's post.

A few minutes before Arilou came to make a scene here, I was browsing the Immortal Dynasty forums when I came across a "Fortress Flag Capture" thread. It was promoting a "new" game mode created by Immortal Dynasty. I teased them and pointed to this thread. After all, this Immortal Dynasty server just uses the settings and map I posted here two years ago. It's a direct clone except for changing fortress_conquered_win or something like that.

Of course, I don't need recognition for the "creation" of this game. I put the settings here so it can be shared. In fact, I got the idea from N9:Alpha while he was making the Team Gauntlet server (The flagfort map file even credits him). However, I couldn't resist pointing out that this was not a new server created by ID, you know, just because it's totally not true, not because I wanted credit. (I've already moved on from this 2 year old version anyway, as stated above.)

And now just like Clutch, I am also banned from a forum I've been visiting for years. I guess this is why Arilou brought his embarrassment here (inappropriately). He could have just answered there and locked the thread if he wanted the last word and this whole thing would have been avoided. But instead he brings it out into the pubilc arena where he reinforces the clan-drama stereotype. And yes, it's painfully obvious to most people that we are seeing Immortal Dynasty go through the same ritual self-destruction as Wild West did, with their persecution complex and their attempts to build a micro-community.

Well done Arilou, you really stuck it too me.

Dude, I didn't mean to embarrass you on your forum. I just thought is was a bit off for you to claim authorship of something that was 90% someone else's work. Again, this isn't to say I wanted credit in your place, which I've never said mind you, and wouldn't say considering I got the idea from someone else. Had I known you would react so harshly I would have brought it up with more subtlety instead of, what I thought, was light-hearted teasing. Also this...
