LAN Problem

Hello, I apologize for my bad english. I have a problem and I was wondering if you could help me to solve it: I can not make a hosting game in my local network. Here is what I do: Go to Play Game/Multiplayer/LAN Multiplayer/Host Game/Host Network Game (just like the WIKI says) and then, the game starts; but the other computers Keep showing "Sorry, No server found " even pushing the "r" key. I tried by connecting two computers to my router using ethernet cable and wirelessly too.How do I have to connect the computers? or What the problem could be? Im using the lastest version of Armegetron under Windows XP with SP3.

The most probable cause for this would be overzealous personal firewalls. First thing you should try is to let the other PC host. If that doesn't help, check the firewall settings on both PCs, and especially uninstall any Norton Internet Security software.

Hello Z-man, thank you for your advise. I have already tried hosting with other PC,and the Firewall is deactivated on both PC's but the problem remains. Any idea?

Hello Jip. I am trying to use the client version and the only connection settings that I have found are those where you can set the ping ¿is that menu the one you are talking about?.

Find out the IP of the PC where the game is hosted. Host the game on this PC. On the other PC start armagetron. In the menu go to Play -> Multi Player -> Custom Connect. Type in the IP and the port (you can choose the port when you start the server).

set SERVER_IP to 127.0.0.1 in the settings_dedicated file.
I dont know if it will work, but try to custom connect with the ip as 127.0.0.1
Dont forget to host a game before trying to join.
