Whovians in armagetron?
Whovians in armagetron?
Any of you out there addicted to Dr Who? What did you think of the first episode? Thoughts on the rest of the series? The silence? How will the doctor get out of his unfortunate demise? Or won't he?

I am. Loved it. Awesome. The silence...hmm will it fall, i don't know. I don't know how the doctor could get out of that. he has 200 years to find a way though. i personally believe he will find a way, he always does. hes also only at his 11th regeneration and no way they're going to kill him off, the doctor will find a way if amy didn't already solve it at the end of the first episode, but i dont think she did.syllabear wrote:Any of you out there addicted to Dr Who? Re: Whovians in armagetron?
he's only got 2 regenerations left anyway (11th-->12th and 12th--> 13th) so maybe he's just decided enoughs enough beforehand? 200 years is still plenty to make several series out of lol.
Any thoughts on the kid in the space suit? Gut reaction was amy's daughter?
Why are the silence on earth? How powerful are they in the galactic scale of beings? Next episode the doctor is held in "the most secure prison" or something like that. Back in the pandorica?

um. i dont really know about the kid in the suit. i dont see how it could be amy's daughter in any way though.
well i dont think the silence are that powerful, and i think it was said they have been on earth for a long time already. the control room rory and rivers were in looked like a control room of a spaceship(referring back to the episode where the spaceship is the second floor of that house and the control room has those hand things.) also at the end of the pandorica opens theres a voice that says the silence will fall so...
Re: Whovians in armagetron?
yeah its supposed to look exactly like the lodger tardis, so the silence are either nearly space-time capable or are already there (or stole it) which makes me believe they are quite powerful...
As for the girl, she (looks to) have red hair, need I say more?

Re: Whovians in armagetron?
I also like a bit of Dr Who, pretty sure he'll find a way to save himself, they wouldn't want to handicap themselves by not being able to cast anyone else as the Doctor. Without some stupid story why anyway.
Re: Whovians in armagetron?
ok how about this: the series is split into 2 with a mid-series cliffhanger at episode 7 ("A Good Man Goes to War"). Does he save himself by this point or is it a whole series affair?

Re: Whovians in armagetron?
My guess is that if he doesnt save himself by the end of the next episode then its gonna be either this entire season or even next season. all i know is that matt smith is gonna be the doctor for a long time.
Re: Whovians in armagetron?
Did you know: Matt Smith used to play Leicester City's academy until he was forced to quit through injury. Interesting huh

Re: Whovians in armagetron?
That episode was intense the silence did indeed fall, got raped actually, but also makes no sense. that one silence on the hill in the first episode must have been one of the last? or the previous generation wasnt able to kill them all and cant pass it on to the next generation?
Anyways i do believe your right, that is amys child, likely effected by the tardis and made into a time lord some how.( which is why there was regeneration at the end.) now after regeneration the child could look like anything, could even be older or change gender. another possiblity is that the(1100 year old doctor and amy snuck away and did the deed)
great episode. the astronaut who kills the doctor will deffinettally at least span this season if not next.

Re: Whovians in armagetron?
I think the way that the silence were eliminated was pretty anticlimatic actually... Also I've read "the silence will fall" doesn't refer to their death/destruction but to something else.
And don't forget, the doctor said they'd be killed all throughout time by humans, so its not just an instant kill, there'll still be lots of silent on the earth.
Amy's child may be a silent. They refer to her with honour or something like that, and if the scanner can't pick up the child (as it can't remember if there is one, or something to that effect) then that could be an indication its a silent.
What we do know is, Amy, River and Rory are not timelords/ladys, so any offspring from them cannot be full timelord therefore cannot regenerate (from what I'm told anyway).
What interests me is the small scene in the orphanage where the woman in the hatch mentions something about dreaming, then disappears. Apparently she's a guest star from episode 7, which is some great foreshadowing.
At least I'll be less inclined to crazy theory hunting over the next few episodes anyway, since they're all self-contained stories, but with a mid-season cliffhanger coming up, I may just have to build a tardis and go to september hahaha

Re: Whovians in armagetron?
Well that kid has to be some sort of time lord due to the regeneration thing but then again if she is the doctor should be able to sense him/feel him out/smell him like he did with the master.
Re: Whovians in armagetron?
hmm thats the other thing, theres an episode comming where he discovers more timelords. And the voice in the season's trailer which says "Fear me, I've killed hundreds of timelords" (to which the doctor replys "fear me, I've killed them all", just to be extra kickass)
