High Rubber Tournament

Anyone notice how different HR is now compared to around 2006/7? I took the oldest settings Shaggy gave to me and put them back up. The server is called ID Classic High Rubber. People who are entertaining the idea of having something like this should go around and play the 4/5 existing HR servers to see what they like. I think we can all agree quicker rounds make for a more interesting tourney.

Zero hosted it so maybe but frozen might have them and I'd classic is close to xzl settings

I understand your viewpoint about the old speeders settings. Back in the day, it was my favorite HR server as well. Flex has the settings. I will see if I can get them, or offer a slot for him to put the old speeders server back up. However, I really think, of the servers I have seen, this ID HR server seems the closest to the best for a general HR tourney server. I am going to work with ari at fine tuning the settings some more, I think they do need tweaked just a bit to make it better.

Well for me xzl was just a way to get you guys to use it lol. My favorite rubber server had 1000s of rubber. I'm not sure if flex has the settings because he never hosted an hr server. Ds had almost the same settings until they put dzones around the whole thing

It's hard to get these things set up, especially as posted many times before, not many of the HR players use these forums.

Personally I liked the XzL HR settings, I also liked speeders. ID hr settings were basically a mix of these 2 taking the best of both worlds and was very popular when it was up.

Funny you should ask. I host ID Classic High Rubber. I have noticed that it has been getting a fair ammount of traffic lately. I looked at the High Rubber Tilt Wiki Page. It really isn't much work for me to bring it back. Tonight I plan to get US and EU servers up. With the many HR players, I am thinking that a community-run monthly HR tourney would be nice! Maybe we could get more HR players to come here.
Of course, it helps me a lot that Arilou, a clanmate of mine in ID was on the winning team last time. We have been privately discussing this for the last month.
