yeah. prop 19.

there was a vote to legalize weed completely in California, not just for medical use but for anyone who wanted to buy it.

Just so they could tax tax tax tax tax it.

They figured drug dealers are making a lot of money, and if they legalized weed, they'd be getting that money, but it was voted down.
Don't hate the player, hate the entire clan.

What, like marijuana is some newfangled invention that just came on the market? It's pretty damn obvious that marijuana prohibition and the "Drug War" are failing rather miserably as well.
If you don't want to be raped/murdered/stolen from, you should abide by the law. Since otherwise, what right do you have for protection from it?
That doesn't make sense. First, being law-abiding does not prevent one from being a victim of crime.

Secondly, breaking a law does not a) make one deserving of being the victim of crime, or b) preclude one from seeking justice if he becomes the victim of a crime himself.

Ig-nor-ance.

Annual Causes of Death in the United States (Obviously, a biased site, but has properly sourced information.)

Getting killed, paralysed, amputated, or scarred in a car wreck caused by drunk driving, your or someone else's, is also pretty damn permanent.

And, what appa said.

But, I know, you're a teenager and therefore invincible.

Unless it discourages them from purchasing it, as it has, at least in part, with tobacco products.

He didn't say alcohol doesn't have long term effects, he just said there are other illegal drugs that do worse. That is a true statement. No need to jump on your bandwagon and call him ignorant. I would say calling him ignorant, or his statement "ignorance" is a direct threat and should be tagged as "escalating.

Try to be a little less transparent with your repeated attempts at baiting me, INW. Just because you inexplicably got away with not being banned yourself after the last several volleys you've spewed, some of which were way over the line, does not mean you've been deemed innocent. And it sure as hell doesn't mean you can now go around grasping in vain to bait me or manufacture action taken against me (a kind of trolling itself). You are the epitome of a hypocrite.

Wow the things I've read in this thread lead me to believe all you have been watching too much Reefer Madness.

The worst thing marijuana does for you is very minor smoke damage in the lungs, and if you want to know what positive affects weed can have on you, then you should talk to your doctor.

Equal or more carcinogenic effects on the lung than the equivalent cigarette. Its just that people tend to smoke it less than cigarettes.

That being said, non-smoked it doesn't have too many known negatives.

This statement isn't *really* true. I'm don't really know about drugs other than Cocaine. Sure, some drug dealers make a large annual income, but that is the minority, like everything else in life. There are regional managers who report to national drug lords. These regional managers hire many dealers, who operated as foot soldiers. They would roam the streets and sell to clients, or get in wars with rival drug gangs. Anyway, these street operators are paid less that minimum wage. There is also a high chance of imprisonment and death with being a foot soldier. The regional managers make upwards of 100,000$ a year. The national leaders get paid an exorbitant amount, which is provided from regional managers.

I'm assuming the difference is they're independent from the organized dealing. The city described specifically was Chicago (however many other largecities are included as separate "regions"), and the crack/cocaine industry was described. I also assume the willingness of people to deal in your area is far less than in major cities(unless you live in the ghetto{not exclusively this area, first thing that came to my kind}) The greater the workforce, the less each has to be paid as there will always be someone to take over that spot.

yes I've discussed with a few doctors how marijuana can help people. My aunt is one of those poeple, and my uncle is one of those doctors.

and about weed being equal to cigarettes. well I've never heard of anyone getting cancer from weed.

Again, its very common for people to smoke 20 cigarettes a day, whereas someone to smoke 20 spliffs a day I would presume to be quite rare.

And regardless, its very difficult to say what actually "causes" a cancer, its more to do with little things building up, and the more of those which you can avoid, the better.

These comments lead me to believe that A) You didn't thoroughly read this thread, B) Possibly haven't even watched Reefer Madness, since nothing here comes close to comparing, and B) You are inexperienced, naive, poorly researched, and have been listening to too much bullshit stoner lore.

On top of it, why are you bumping a 2-year old topic to make nothing resembling a meaningful or worthwhile addition?

Is that so? Ask them about its effects on the brain.

And you do realise that a couple anecdotes don't qualify as evidence, don't you?
