Re: Are you a misanthrope?
Is this even real? It seems pretty "far out" to me.... More like some bad-taste pro-life publicity stunt.
If it is real, I cannot understand that people would leave such a decision to voters on the internet. Imagine the scenario that they keep the child and s/he later learns that s/he exists because of an internet vote.... too strange.

Certainly a publicity stunt. If not, I will eat my socks (not that I'm wearing any...).

Agreed with word/chrisd. After a look around its probably a pro-life stunt (the type of people who they are, and also registering the site way before possible conception).
I'm pro life, but this is still sick, even if it is a stunt.

What the hell does this have to do with misanthropy (other than pro-lifers hating free women)? I think you should change the title.
In all seriousness, Betty Bowers is a better Christian than you. You all had better attend Landover Baptist.

Re: Are you a misanthrope?
pro-life = anti-choice. Let's not blur the lines here. These superstitious control freaks are always in favor of the death penalty and bombing foreign nations. Not exactly proponents of life, eh? (I'm speaking more on behalf of the US than the EU. You guys actually live in the 21st century)
This reminds me of a reality tv show that was, or was supposed to be, aired in Holland (99% sure of the country) in which an organ donor was going to decide which of the terminally ill contestants would receive what they needed to live based on whatever. Depressing. Did this ever actually happen or was it just an idea/rumor?

No. You're trying to "blur the lines". Am I anti-choice because I don't think Joe Nutcase has a right to kill you?boobert wrote:pro-life = anti-choice. Let's not blur the lines here.

You're anti-choice because you believe Joe Nutcase has the right to tell a sovereign woman that she has no choice in terminating a nonviable parasite.

About as non-viable as a 5 year old. But I guess you think women should have the "right" to kill their 5 year olds too...Phytotron wrote:You're anti-choice because you believe Joe Nutcase has the right to tell a sovereign woman that she has no choice in terminating a nonviable parasite.
Also, children are never parasites. "A parasitic relationship is one in which one member of the association benefits while the other is harmed." The mother is not harmed, she benefits from the relationship as well. That is, it is mutually beneficial, not parasitic.
