I've never found any rollercoasters in the UK to match what's on offer in the US. Haven't been to Thorpe Park in many, many years though. Maybe their 'coasters could compete.
Roller coasters: Arms up, or arms down?

I actually laughed out loud

Yeah, there aren't nearly as many coasters over there as there are in the US. However, Nemesis and Expedition GeForce are pretty awesome.

I've been in Thorpe Park like 4 years ago and in Alton Towers (both in England) but it was pretty scary and awesome

Yeah that's a new coaster that now holds the record for fastest roller coaster (147 or 149ish mph I think)

Yeah. It goes so fast you have to wear goggles.
...you watch: someday Disney's going to make a Tron ride with lightcycles that manage to turn 90-degree square corners and we'll all be required to wear helmets and HANS so we don't snap our necks.
Anyway, the poll: it depends to me. If you're running a serious coaster with wicked speed and turns that I'm afraid will dislocate my arms if I don't hang onto something, I'm hanging onto something. If not, I'll do the arm thing.

As it rolls along, what will the Germans do? Flee in terror? Fight a valiant last-ditch effort to stop the invading machine? Or just step aside and let the unsteerable contraption roll on until it bangs into a wall somewhere.

You want a silent coaster ride?Titanoboa wrote:Strongly dislike the girls - and boys - that scream during a ride (I could write a long post about that). Grow up and let me enjoy the ride?
Definitely arms down because I usually decide that I don't want to be on the ride anymore after just rolling out of the station, then spend the entire ascent screaming at the coaster operators to get me off. They either don't hear me or get threatened really often because they never stop the coaster.

I feel like that all the time nara, lol. Just I don't scream at operators to get me off.
Re: Roller coasters: Arms up, or arms down?
We must go to an amusement park together. I feel that that would be more entertaining than the ride itself!nara wrote:then spend the entire ascent screaming at the coaster operators to get me off.

That isn't really fun. I was hit in the face about ten times on this ride called "Diamondback" (not even a good coaster, btw) by this woman beside me screaming "LORD JESUS HAVE MERCY, SAVE ME NOW JUST TAKE ME!" She wouldn't quit flailing around at all. One of the worst experiences of my life.Lord Pein wrote:We must go to an amusement park together. Ok, but why did I add this signature? I was like 15 and thought I was smart? What a brat.

Flailing + Screaming != Screaming

Up! Always up! I agree with the UK coasters sucking though, the only coolish one I've been on in England is Nemesis (and its old nao :<)
