Can't he assign group leadership to the team leader, who can then do it him/herself?

A group for each country would have to be created, then a forum created, permissions set for the group only, permissions set for moderator ship of group leader... times the number of countries. It's not practical for what at the moment appears to be a one time thing. While I'm happy that everyone wants to hang around the forums, I think this would better belong in a new forum at this time. That's not to say that we couldn't whip up worldcup.armagetronad.net or competitions.armagetronad.net or teams.armagetronad.net or clans.armagetronad.net for stuff like this.

It's ridiculous to call it a World Cup if some countries are represented more than others. One team per country, no merging either.

Although I'd personally prefer an annual World Cup with stricter rules (Conc described it exactly as I look at it).

Please don't call me a hater - I want this event to last long and be able to grow. If we allow USA to have 3 teams this time, and the player base grows proportionally, all other countries will want to have more than one team (since USA were allowed to in 2010, they should be too), and by then USA will prolly have enough players for 5 or 6 teams.

Imagine 4 USA* teams in the semis. While that could be "awesome" to some, I don't think it's good for the tourney.

*or English, Swedish, Spanish, Dutch. Just to make clear that I'm not picking on 1 country specifically.

It's just a not a world cup if there is a possibility of teams from the same country competing against each other. Thus, 1 team per nation.

I am not surprised that the people who are most against having more than one team per country are those who are good. I know its not ideal, and if each country had exactly the same number of players... even 100 each, then I'd say 1 per country.

But its just NOT fair that if you are from a major European country, or Canada, you get a very high % chance to play in your team.

If you are in the USA team, you have a low chance. Sure if you are a good player like you concord, or titan, or woned, etc. you GET to play.

If you are in a country without enough players, you just don't get to play if your way is the real way.

Finally. If USA gets to pick their ideal team they will win. Without a doubt. They have about 50% of fort players (although about half of them are in newer clans, so aren't great). Either way, they have about 3-4 other-country's worth of good players.

So I have the above reasons for splitting up the USA. What are your arguments against it? You don't like it. Other countries might start doing it... oh no.
