Hi,
I have a ATI Radeon 1600 graphic card, and recently on any linux distro i have the same problem. Screen shot shows it. Everything works fine except flickering text and zones. I'm sorry if this issue is solved, but i couldn't find it.
Ty in advance

Re: radeon 1600 and linux
Interesting, never seen that before. You may want to try fiddling with the Display List setting in the Perfomance Tweaks section of the System Settings, that's the first thing that may help.
Re: radeon 1600 and linux
Did what you said, it worked. Dont know which change worked, since i made a few and that did the job.
Re: radeon 1600 and linux
You should also check out boot options to pass to the kernel. I have problems with my radeon because ubuntu insists on clearing out the boot options I give it, and I keep forgetting what they are.
So icons don't always display correctly, and nowadays KDE uses the 3d card properly, so it can be annoying. X pointer is screwed up....
I need to fix that.

This was not Ubuntu related, I had the same problem with Sidux and Fedora. In newest version of Sidux there is no problem. Thanx for posting anyway.Lucifer wrote:You should also check out boot options to pass to the kernel.
