Teammembers may sign up their team on the wiki, but only their team.

We already have that rule:

Only the Team Captain is authorized to place your team on the Challenge Board.

As it stands, Liz has signed up 2 teams. She is the captain of two teams, which comes very close to violating the the new rule "players can only play on one team." We'll have to rephrase that to be more inclusive I guess.

I'd say a ban is coming her way eventually. But we'll have to discuss what to do in the future because it looks like there is no end to this bullshit.

Vecolity was actually a real team, with real players. Not a full team, but a team nontheless, I don't even know why I'm explaining myself.. maybe I was signing up people who couldn't sign themselves up and they chose this really ironic name?

Maybe? You don't know what you were doing? And there is no "was". The team "is" on the board and the bracket. I hope they show up, because it would settle this mess.

what up with all this hate, all it does is cause dramma, spam, and get the people who actually spend time making the brackets, configs, servers or helping out in the processes upset. That is why I stepped out of all ladle discussion threads, quit making the brackets. I do still make the authority configs (mainly to have them when I get ct's servers updated), and get ct's servers updated. What if all those people just said screw it to providing their time for the ladle? You should not be attacking them for enforcing the rules and guidelines.

And the 'maybe?' was rhetorical, thought that was a given. Is it not allowed to sign other teams up if they don't know how to do it? Is it automatically my responsibility if they show up or not? I also signed up the open team, that would mean I'm the captain for 3 teams. Nice logic.

No it's not. Read the guidelines. Have you ever read them? The reason we have that rule is specifically because of this situation right now.

Look, we have some rules here. And it appears we're going to have a lot more if none of you will cooperate. Soon the Ladle guidelines will read like a legal document, and that will further alienate players (many of of whom can't be bothered to read the guidelines already). If a team doesn't have a captain capable of editing the wiki (which is quite easy), then I have a hard time believing that same person will be capable of fulfilling their duties in the Ladle.

I'm sure you were just trying to be "nice" by editing the wiki for this inept team. But you're a bit out practice when it comes to nice behavior, so please go back to not giving a damn.

I have to agree. If the team is real, then yeah, it's all fun and good and the fact that rules were violated doesn't matter. If not, it forces one other team and possibly admin to be there 45 minutes earlier, find no opponent, then twiddle their thumbs for the time. That would be a clear disturbance of the Ladle, and the rule violation would matter. So they better show up and play properly (i.e. not like sock puppets playing on a virtual machine running an IP obfuscator.)

Hm, to be honest, why can't the teams just

1. sign their team up (I don't care which name)

and

2. write down names to each team that are coming close to their grid names?

We just voted on a rule so noone is forced to take the name on the challenge board but the name must be clear and known by everyone. I do not even 100% know who we are playing in the first round now.
