So if starting fresh why then use the same name for a clan as before?

Who cares about the name? Really, if TaZ and a bunch of people from the former VcL wore a different tag, people would simply say "oh, VcL rebranded". More important than the superficial is the indubitable; and by that I mean their behavior - which has been exactly how it should be for a clan trying to shake off a bad reputation.

I used to silence VcL players immediately when I entered a server. I haven't felt the need to do that for a while now. This is a good sign of progress. Besides, it's much more an accomplishment to start over and be successful with the old name, than start over with a new one; would you agree?

I would agree haha. Taz wanted to keep the same name due to the fact of the "family-feelings" it represented for the members. Although our reputation was awful, everybody in the clan was really close :) (until code decided to hell with us) He wanted the same feeling with a new rep. (no tension w/ id, pru, and everyone lol) I'm speaking for him though so I don't know if this is the true reason. He can correct me when he reads this if he feels like he needs to.

The different name on the store brand cereal box does not change the fact that the product inside is generally the same, with a slightly different taste.
