teamsumo settings
teamsumo settings
Hi there, this post goes predominantly to the teamsumo admins and those, who have the power to change settings. I had the idea to make the zone not to close that fast, because if someone is outside, it’s too hard to get back inside the circle. And the one, who is inside has more chances to stay inside and finish it anyway. What do you think about a little more time for the one, who tries to get back his area? Also it would be better for the one, who tries to capture one of the other zones on the other side while his mate is staying.

Re: teamsumo settings
in team sumo, both players should stay in the zone, leeching is cheap and giving a teammate more time to get back to their zone because they werent in it in the first place is dumb. Both players should be in the zone at the same time and if they arent, oh well, they lose.

Re: teamsumo settings
I don't necessarily agree with everything you just said INW, but I do agree that giving them more time is silly since only 50% of the team has to be inside of the zone for it to remain up in the first place.
Re: teamsumo settings
For me it’s more fun to leave the zone for a while, I think that’s the main difference. But it’s also about that, when the last player is defending his zone against one from the other side, the round ends suddenly. I know, it always used to be like this, but in my eyes it would be nice to see how it ends in the case of last man standing. Probably it won’t fit with the whole teamsumo concept. That it also depends on how many players are in the server, because of the zones, that appear on the other side, should be considered.

Re: teamsumo settings
Well, as you all know I don't play sumo, but on the few occasions I have, I've made the following point: When there's more than one zone, the round should continue until only one zone is left. That is to say, if player A is the last of his zone, then goes over to the other zone where players B and C are still duking it out, then player C loses, players A and B should have the opportunity to engage before the round ends. (As it is, the round will abruptly end, and player A will have gotten zone conquering points from player C, which is whack.)
Either that, or no one should be able to go have any interaction with, or score acquisition from, a secondary zone that they didn't begin in. I suppose that could/should be solved with a custom map and a wall separating zones.

Re: teamsumo settings
well i have no knowledge of any program or script code but here my suggestion:
at team sumo i see that many 2 player teams use their advantage to send one over to the other zone (INW called it "leeching")
so couldn't it be that:
all alive players of a team have to be in their zone?
i think that would give a very new aspect to team sumo...
2-player-teams cant "leech" and if the zone gets smaller they all have to stay there
but if someone dies the other one can still win
And Phytotron
where all zone winners and survivors get into a center zone (7 players at once is FUN!

it's already done in the "flower power" servers (but which is single player sumo)Either that, or no one should be able to go have any interaction with, or score acquisition from, a secondary zone that they didn't begin in. Re: teamsumo settings
you need a map whose zones are divided by walls or too far away to be reached from someone from another zone during a round
Re: teamsumo settings
Why shouldn’t it be possible to "leech"? It’s what teamsumo makes special and interesting. There’s already single sumo, where everyone has to stay inside.
