Ha! You love 12! Why?

Flex and I talked earlier about 5-man teams and I think that number is good. It could be my love of odd numbers though. Also, it makes a 5v3 more realistic to play than a 7v3, which happened a few times last season.

Maybe if you show up with less than 3 the game is an automatic forfeit? And what is the consequence of a forfeit, since that wasn't really resolved last season? (we just counted them as wins, but there was no point penalty, which I think this is fine.)

I thought the problem was that the ladder was calculated using scores from each match.
So if there was a forfeit there wasn't a fair way to reward the winning team with points.
So my suggestion is that the ladder be calculated based on win/loss record rather than from scores from each match that way if there is a forfeit it would just be a win & loss for each team.

May be scores could come into play as a 2nd or 3rd way to break tie. 1st way to break tie should be the 2-teams' head-to-head record like in most sports.

Ok I've held my tongue for quite sometime now to give respect to the idea at hand. However, this league will not work just base on the fact of how many players have signed up.

I will list two suggestions.

First, we go back to the old way of doing things and hope to have more stable teams. All othe aspects of the league such as # of games, team size, etc. can still be in consideration.

MY alternative. Sign up 8 captains who are known as responsible players to field a team.

Example: if psyko petitions to be a captain he is in his own right to field an entire SP team.
If lacks petitions to be a captain he is in his own right to invite any player he wishes.

If a clan dies, THAT captain is responsible for still fielding a team to play once or twice a month. Perhaps, however, put in a clause stating if your team dies then you have the option of postponing your next match for two weeks or so.

Only 8 captains are selected, but more can petition. Members of teams that dropped out last League should be considered last as a captain IMO.

we've talked about this before, Concord; and I think Psyko is right.

Not everyone who likes to play shows enough individual initiative (fact: most armagetron players tend to be lazy ;) )

You might try publicizing this a bit more? I'm sure there would be more players interested in it (if they knew it existed).
