THE PROPOSED RULES WHICH FLEX HASN'T READ YET wrote:Proposed League Structure
1 game of best 2 out of 3 matches each month.
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
Some other options (lets call to it a vote since it is the most important question)
best 2 out of 3 @ 15 min
best 2 out of 3 @ 20 min
1 game, 30 min
1 game, 40 min
1 game, 20 min
1 match per month
2 matches per month
3 matches per month
Either 1 or 2 matches per month
My personal favorite... ONE MATCH @ 30 min, with the chat time @ 0. Alternates between 1 match and 2 matches per month.
So Speeders will play 1 match in sept, 2 matches in oct, 1 match in november, 2 matches in december. If you had 7 teams, everyone would play everyone ONE time and then seeds would be handed out.
Speeders are highest so they have a bye first round. Then from there work it like an 8 team bracket until the final (all of these matches can be played within one month...so a team tentatively will play 3 matches...The finals would be on a scheduled date, hopefully the last sunday in the month. That way the first and second round would not interfere with the ladle.
Total time = 5 months. Possibility of two seasons/year with a break of 1 month in between each season

Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
Yea but this time it won't be using clans but teams. no?
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
I don't like that idea but yes, it seems thats the way the league is heading
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
Why don't you?
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
I mean if we are voting on it I would rather have it so people can sign up as clans but also have the option for unorganized teams to participate.
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
Well, I for one am in a clan/team to begin with cuz I like the guys I play with and I want to play with them. 98% of the time I play with other people in random matches, I cherish that other 2%. I mean I totally get why this is a good idea and it should make it much stronger this is just my personal impression.
Having a mixture between clans/teams and unorganized player pool would be a baddddd idea. No offense but the clans/teams would crush the opponents and it wouldnt be very fun.

Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
Not to mention the people who wouldn't show up due to the lack of leadership.. oh well, I'm still signing up.
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
Double-post. Most of the captains that signed up are clan leaders and/or clan members, what happens if they only pick people from their own clan?
Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
that's perfectly fine. The goal is not too split up players, but to have relatively level-skilled teams. The splitting up is not something I personally see as a negative, but that's a very debatable stance, obviously.

Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
I did provide a few FPL servers last season. However, they seemed to be very little used. I would like feedback on the following. Would you like me to host any FPL servers? If so, in which of the following locations: New York, Texas, or France? I will gladly host any of those or all three if they will be used.

Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
I plan to limit the number of servers to just 4, a small enough number to ensure that they have proper settings and proper auth levels and that the teams know only those servers are the right ones.
No reason TSP couldn't be one of the 4.

Sounds great! Just let me know which location is the most sensible. Limiting servers can be a VERY wise choice.

Re: A Change in Strategy // Fortress Premier League
How about 5vs5 and instead of 10 round limit, try 12 round limit? These things aren't that far off from regular Fortress, but I think it would be much more suitable for tournaments.
If you tried this in the FPL and it went well, then I think later on, people would be more interested in the 5vs5 concept (with 12 rounds also) for the Ladle and other Fortress events. Which I think is more forward on competitive game play.
