Starship models
thats wild!
i dont mind making a solar sailer, dunno how many polys it woudl end up being.. id try to keep it as low as possible of course..
id prolly rather get round to making a tank model first , but it too will be hard to keep the poly count down on & still look anything like the movie one..
i aught to make all the vehicles tho, in case anyone ever wants to get REAL jiggy with the engine somewheres down the road..
the recognizer is quite near exactly like the movie if i do say so myself
/me pats himself on the back

sure one could flip the grid but the only point i see doing that would be for a different camera perspective imo, maybe i missed the point?
my point with the mirror/reflection was to make the beam seem to originate from the center of the sailer (which should be easy that way) + with reflection you can use sky reflection which could be neat & fitting

Code: Select all
sideways view of idea:
| _ |
|............/___________________...................|
| \_ | < other grid wall
^ ^ ^---- trail is only coloured close to grid as well as reflected
grid wall reflected mesh forms lower half of sailer
...... are grid plane ___ is trail
