The Whalehunt

For things that have to do with those crazy test servers... and yeah. By request of z-man, and, of course, you gotta obey...

I know! Use PHP+Sty and make it so after a certain amount of time it will make CYCLE_RUBBER -1 then change back to 5 rubber after 1 second.

Nothing wrong with a DZ after 3 minutes. That is pretty much the standard way to end a hold the flag game. Hold the Flag has been fleshed out pretty well in the sty settings. Manta has an implementation of the game mode on his multi-mode server, and pathetique has a shooting version. I can't really think of a better way.
Also, I am getting ready to go on a quick trip with the family to a festival, I should have the server up tonight. I will pm you with more details at that time.

Will the server be a public, master list server?

I find Fortress physics with HTF is very slow paced, especially on a big map.

I agree, the map is smaller now, 300x300

It's been this size since last week, for those who played already

When I was working on a Breakfast in Hell moviepack, it was going to be the light sailer that was in TRON (only without the light beams, obviously) set in a grid with water on the bottom, cliffs on all sides except one, and on the one without cliffs you'd see a little path leading to the citadel of chaos in the Amber books. The sky should be striped like the one at Chaos.

My conception of hell. ;)

Nice idea I think it's most like last man standing sometimes though.
Can't put my finger on why it didn't appeal too much; but I think it could be fun if played serious and some taktix implemented.

Generally I liked it. The physics and emphasis on a slightly different grind in order to let the defender set up were cool. What I didn't particularly like was the lack of what I'd consider a 'proper' resolution; one that doesn't involve a death zone or a last man standing type battle. Having said that, I don't have a useful idea as to how that could be achieved without turning it into CTF.
