Instant chat that can talk to the console?

I am trying to figure out how to (if there is a way) get an instant chat to say something in the console. I play sumo/fort with the zome_alpha set to .15 and I want an instant chat to say it in the console.

A few people have told me that I can set an instant chat to a button like F1 or Control, press the console button (so I am typing in the console) and then press my instant chat key. I am using the 2.8.3 (I think) beta version, it does not work. (I assume that it works in older versions if people are telling me that that is how to do it)

Does anyone know how to make an instant chat say something in the console with the 2.8.3 (I most likely have the numbers wrong) beta version?

If I remember right, it's the "/console" command that does it. Which was created so we could have instant chats do stuff in the console.

Ya just make an instant chat normally that says /console zone_alpha .15, though I think you might be able to set that in your user.cfg so you wouldn't have to use it every time you started up.

Thanks guys, I am a failure and didn't know about the /console command It works now.

Another problem though. I do not have an Armagetron Advanced folder. I have tried dragging the .app to the applications folder, it just moves the .app there, and does not really like install tron. I don't really get it, but there is no Armagetron Advanced folder on my computer.

You're on a Mac? Have you tried option-clicking the application to "show package contents"? Well either way, read the following and see if it helps..

Default Armagetron Advanced installation folder
Windows: C:\Program Files\Armagetron Advanced\
Mac OS X: The game is self-contained and may be located anywhere, but most people usually have it in /Applications
Default Armagetron Advanced User Configuration Folder.
* Note that you have to enable viewing hidden files to see some directories.
Windows 2000/XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Armagetron
Windows Vista: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Armagetron
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Armagetron Advanced
